Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were not able to continue our free tax aid program through AARP. Below are some resources.
There are a number of free tax filing programs that are available: https://apps.irs.gov/app/freeFile/ Or just go to irs.gov and click on 'Do Your Taxes For Free'. These all have income limits and some have age limits. You may also visit aarp.org and click on Information for You: Tax Aide at the bottom of the page to see their recommendations.
In addition, the Accounting Aid Society in Detroit has a process to do taxes remotely for people who have email and the ability to scan or photograph (smart phone) their tax documents. There is an income limitation and they are more limited in the scope of tax situations that we are. More information here: https://accountingaidsociety.org/vita-ace/
