Our naturalist team leads hikes all throughout the year to connect residents to the beautiful trails and parks in West Bloomfield. In the winter, we even snowshoe! They make stops along the way to help participants learn about what they are encountering out on the trail.
Our hiking series include:
Join our Naturalist on a nature discovery walk on the first Thursday of every month. Enjoy silly songs and fun activities to keep all ages, from babies to school-aged, engaged. Families can explore in the Nature Room after the hike. $5/family at the time of registration. If you attend the fee is returned to your account to use for a future program. The trail is unpaved so only all-terrain strollers are recommended. A baby backpack/carrier is suggested for infants.
Senior Hike Series
Join our Naturalist on seasonal nature discovery walks throughout our park system. Each walk ranges from 1-1.5 miles. Explore various trails in WB and observe the changing seasons. Hiking poles provided. This is a free program but pre-registration is required.
Hike with a Naturalist and one of WB’s very own heroes, a local police officer, firefighter or others. Come dressed as your favorite hero to explore the trail. We will make a craft and interview our guest hero after the hike. This program is offered once each season.
