Our Leader in Training (LIT) program offers teens the opportunity to gain leadership skills, explore topics of self-development and achieve valuable experiences in a positive and supportive work environment. LITs will assist with our Camp WB program; responsibilities will include: working with campers ages 6-11, assisting camp staff with implementing daily activities, execute crafts and games, assist with field trips and other off-site activities.
Additionally, through workshops, LITs will gain professional and life skills. Topics will include: workforce prep, resume and cover letter writing, job application skill building, interview etiquette, communication skills and more!
- LITs must be 13 to 16 years old and must have completed 7th grade.
- The number of LIT positions available is limited.
- This program requires a full commitment from the participant.
- LITs must attend:
- A one day LIT orientation – June 14
- Two scheduled workshop days – 7/12 (full day) and 7/26 (half day + afternoon at Camp WB).
- Two consecutive weeks of summer camp.
- Your choice of: June 24–28 & July 8–12, July 15 — 19 & July 22 – 26 or July 29–August 2 & August 5–9.
Application Information:
The application deadline for LITs is Monday, May 6th by 4:30pm. Applications will continue to be accepted upon availability.
Each applicant (teen) must complete and submit their own application, not the parent. Application packet will include: Skills Assessment, Code of Conduct, one reference from a non-family member. Reference form should be included when application is submitted, allow time for reference to complete it.
- Parents will complete the camp waiver to submit along with the application.
- The cost to participate in the program is $300 for residents and $325 for nonresidents. This fee is to subsidize staff supervision, workshops, field trips, uniform and transportation fees.
