West Bloomfield Parks offers a variety of fun volunteer opportunities for teens and adults. Our volunteer opportunities include: greeters, game and craft assistants, registration assistants, program assistants, prep work, nature program assistance and much more.

Volunteer Sign-Up Process & Guidelines

To ensure a smooth and safe volunteer experience for everyone, please review the following important information before signing up:

  • Individual Sign-Ups Required:
Each volunteer must be signed up under their own name. If a parent or guardian is registering a child, please list the child’s name as the volunteer and include the parent or guardian’s contact information in the designated fields.
  • Accurate Information is Essential:
Do not sign up on behalf of another person (friends, classmates, siblings, etc.). Doing so results in inaccurate records for our volunteer coordinators and may cause confusion during check-in.
  • Volunteer Waiver Requirement:
All volunteers must complete a Volunteer Waiver prior to participating. This waiver is required for liability and safety reasons and must include accurate emergency contact information.

    • Volunteers under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian complete and sign a volunteer waiver prior to volunteering. If a waiver is not completed and saved on file prior to the event, underage volunteers will be asked to contact their parent/guardian to complete the waiver before starting their volunteer services.
  • Failure to Follow These Steps:
Volunteers who are not properly registered or who have not completed the waiver may not be permitted to volunteer at the event.

Thank you for helping us keep our volunteer process organized and safe for everyone!

Boy Scout Programs:

WB Parks receives many requests for Eagle Scout Projects in our parks. We are happy to assist with a project’s development and execution if the project is appropriate and benefits our parks system. WB Parks welcomes and encourages project proposals where a scout has identified a need in a park (we do not have a need for benches, bridges, or boardwalks). If you need suggestions for a project we have a small list of ideas available to discuss. We encourage spending time in our parks to brainstorm a project that will make an area more valuable to Michigan wildlife. Discuss the project with your troop leaders and parent/guardian to ensure the project is appropriate and meets Eagle Scout requirements.

After these steps have been completed, fill out and submit the survey below. Once the survey is completed, a naturalist/eagle scout project manager will contact you to discuss your proposal and project plan moving forward.
