Volunteer with us!

West Bloomfield Parks offers a variety of fun volunteer opportunities for teens and adults.  Our volunteer opportunities include: greeters, game and craft assistants, registration assistants, program assistants, prep work, nature hikes and much more.

The success of many of our programs and events depends on the efforts of our volunteers.  Those who contribute their time, energy, and talents make it possible for our residents to have an enjoyable recreation experience! Many of our special events occur during meal times and we love to feed our volunteers!

What do I bring with me?
Since each event is very unique, be sure to read all the details provided in the event description.  Most events are held outside, so please always check the weather and prepare for all weather combinations; dressing in layers is recommended.  Also, most volunteer positions require long periods or standing or even some walking; please wear comfortable shoes.  Please leave valuables at home.  Snacks and sometimes meals are also provided, but highly recommended you bring a water bottle and spending cash in case you want to purchase something from a food vender or vending machine.

Will someone sign my document to verify my volunteer hours?
Yes, the Volunteer Coordinator tracks all volunteer hours and will gladly sign your form for the hours you have volunteered for us.  If possible, bring your form to the event and a Parks & Recreation representative can sign it there or contact the Volunteer Coordinator after the event and she will be able to provide verification.
