DIA Inside Out
The DIA’s Inside Out program brings high-quality reproductions from the DIA’s collection to outdoor venues throughout metro Detroit.
Communities can apply to be a designated site and West Bloomfield was selected for the summer of 2022! Reproductions will begin to be installed in mid-May at the following locations:

Tiny Art Kits & Exhibition
After viewing the DIA Inside|Out paintings around the community, unleash your inner artist and put brush to canvas with a Tiny Art Painting Kit. Each kit contains a small canvas, brushes, and acrylic paints. For all ages with a valid West Bloomfield Library card. Registration required. To register for a kit when they become available, talk with library staff or visit wblib.org. Limit of 5 projects per card while supplies last.

Creativebug Craft Kits
Adults can learn to make a new craft every couple weeks by registering for a Creativebug Craft Kit while supplies last. Each kit comes with supplies to make a craft corresponding with an instructional video from the Creativebug database. West Bloomfield residents have access to over a thousand craft tutorials through Creativebug. For adults with a valid West Bloomfield Library card. Registration required. Registration opens at the start of each two-week pickup period. Funded by the Friends of the Library.

Each work displayed for DIA Inside|Out depicts a diverse and reflective range of people and place. Adults can join Karen Imarisio to explore each work and artist on display in closer detail, as well as how each artwork belongs to a particular artistic genre. Registration required.

Adults can learn more about photography and its importance in the art world from a DIA teaching volunteer. In addition to many other works, the discussion will include details about Night Shift, Pontiac Assembly by Russ Marshall, a photograph installed at the Library’s West Acres Branch.
