This class allows the parent and child to get comfortable in the water together. Instructors will allow for some playtime, but the majority of the class will involve interactive games and safety lessons.
Preschool 1 Swim
Youngsters learn to place face in water, bubble blowing, front and back float with aid, kick on front and back with aid, enter and exit water independently from side of pool and ladder, and water safety skills. Class is for children only, WITHOUT PARENTS.
This is a beginning class for older children who are not fully comfortable in the water. Time will be spent on water adjustment, basics of buoyancy, water entry and exit, beginning locomotion and water safety skills.
Preschool 2 Swim
The objective of this class is to have the students succeed with swim fundamentals. Children are taught front and back float, glide with aid, hold breath and fully submerge, flutter kick, deep water exploration and water safety skills.
Adventure Club Swim
This is an intermediate class for the younger swimmer who has successfully completed Preschool 2 but is not ready for the challenge of Youth I. The objective of this class is to build on the skills of Preschool 2; students learn prone glide, push off, introduction of elementary backstroke and water safety skills.
Youth 1 Swim
Youngsters learn front crawl with beginning breathing, front and back float without aid, kick on front and back without aid, arm stroke for front crawl and water safety skills.
Youth 1 Advanced
The purpose of this course is to further prepare students for Youth 2. Students will build on their skills from Youth 1 as well as butterfly, sidestroke and some basic first aid. There are no deep end skills right now but when the summer comes you’ll dive into Youth 2 prepared!
